WYBOT A1 Cordless Robotic Pool Cleaner (2026 Upgrade) review

The current U.S. A1/OS2010 is a cordless, floor-only cleaner for flat-bottom pools with a listed maximum slope below 15°. WYBOT states an ideal area up to 1,076 ft² and up to 120 minutes, but publishes no pool-length rating; the linked manual excludes walls and waterline work.

A useful fit for

A research-based candidate when the task is limited to cleaning a flat pool floor within WYBOT's stated size, slope and water-depth boundaries. The owner must not need wall, waterline, step or surface-skimming coverage, and should be comfortable selecting a physical cleaning cycle and checking the filter after each run.

The main tradeoff

The exact U.S. page and OS2010 manual offer area figures but no maximum pool length, and they disagree slightly on maximum water depth. The manual says this model cleans the floor only, can stick on high obstacles and is not for wall or waterline work; the current page says app/remote control is not provided.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Does the A1 clean the pool walls or waterline?

No. The current U.S. page describes floor-only coverage, and the OS2010 manual's FAQ explicitly says the cleaner does not support wall or waterline cleaning. Its edge-enhanced floor routine is not a substitute for a wall-climbing or waterline model.

Can the A1 meet the finder’s 13-inch step or ledge requirement?

The reviewed A1 sources do not establish step coverage at any minimum depth. The manual describes floor-only use and warns that high obstacles can make the device stick, so do not count the A1 as a documented fit for the finder’s 13-inch-qualified step option.

Does the A1 have a documented maximum pool length?

No. The product page lists an ideal pool area of 1,076 ft² and the manual lists 80–100 m² for floor cleaning, but neither gives a length in feet. Pool area cannot establish a reliable length for a particular pool, so the A1 does not pass a numeric pool-length requirement.

Is an ultra-fine cotton-foam filter part of the A1 package?

The current page lists a 180-μm filter plus ultra-fine cotton foam; the OS2010 manual's packing list shows one filter tray described as cotton foam plus 180 μm. That supports the included dual-layer tray, not a second spare kit. The manual recommends cotton foam for daily maintenance and warns against using it when the pool is heavily dusty because the cleaner can stick.

Can I configure the A1 from the phone while it is in the pool?

No app or remote-control route is listed for the exact A1. The product page says App / Remote Control: No, and the OS2010 instructions describe selecting an eco cycle with the cleaner's physical button rather than a phone connection.

The current U.S. page calls this the “(2026 Upgrade) WYBOT A1,” while its Tech Specs table identifies the base model as OS2010. Its two finish choices are Black WYUS-A1-KG and Gray WYUS-A1-DAG. WYBOT publishes one operating specification set for both colors, so this assessment treats them as finish-only variants—not as two different cleaners. The linked manual is titled WYBOT A1 (OS2010), but it is a 2024 document and does not print either current finish suffix; confirm the exact label and supplied instructions on the unit you are considering.

A narrow job: a flat pool floor

The A1 is a cordless, battery-powered floor cleaner, not a whole-pool robot. The product page describes floor-only cleaning on a flat-bottom pool with a slope below 15 degrees. Its manual is more explicit: the troubleshooting FAQ says the cleaner is designed for floor cleaning only and does not support walls or waterline cleaning. The same answer warns that high obstacles can make the device stick. There is no documented step mode or minimum step depth, and nothing in the A1 material describes floating-debris surface skimming.

That makes the first decision simple. If wall climbing, waterline scrubbing, steps, or surface skimming is a must-have, look at a model documented for that separate job. Edge-enhanced language on the A1 page describes a feature of its floor routine; it does not override the manual's floor-only scope. The product page lists above-ground and in-ground pools, but also restricts shape to flat floors under its slope limit. A broad “all surfaces” line in the Tech Specs is not a pool-finish compatibility chart, so check the exact bottom material and slope rather than treating it as an all-pool guarantee.

Area is not length

WYBOT's current page describes 1,076 square feet as an “ideal pool size.” The OS2010 manual gives a floor-cleaning range of 80 to 100 square meters. The upper end is roughly the same area as the page figure, but the manual's lower figure is a more cautious planning signal, not a tested cutoff. Neither document supplies a maximum pool length in feet. A rectangle, a round above-ground pool, and an irregular pool can have different lengths at the same area, so do not convert that area number into a pool-length rating.

The page lists a maximum water depth of 8.2 feet. The OS2010 manual says 2.7 meters maximum and 0.6 meters minimum; the two maximum figures differ slightly. The manual is the only reviewed source here that provides the minimum depth. Pool geometry and actual depth still need to be checked against the exact instructions. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements or proof that a particular pool will be cleaned successfully.

Button-selected cycles and a simple retrieval routine

The A1 has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. WYBOT advertises up to 120 minutes, a 2-to-2.5-hour charging time, and a 2,600 mAh battery. The OS2010 manual lists a 120-minute default cycle and shorter 60-, 40-, and 30-minute eco cycles selected at the cleaner. A short preset is not necessarily a faster full-pool clean; it is simply a shorter chosen run. For the shorter settings, the manual says to retrieve the robot within ten minutes after the preset time or it will restart for about ten minutes and continue until the battery is low.

The current product description also claims a cycle timer that can specify frequency up to four times in seven days. The Tech Specs say App / Remote Control: No, and the manual describes button selection rather than phone setup. Those statements can coexist—the frequency claim does not make this an app-controlled robot—but the documents reviewed do not explain the timer's detailed scheduling behavior. Treat the timer as a manufacturer-listed feature and verify the current instructions before relying on a particular schedule.

To change its cleaning pattern, the manual describes adjustable wheels and suggests changing their direction if an irregular pool shape does not suit the default path. That gives the owner a setup adjustment, not a promise that the robot navigates every outline. The manual also says the cleaner should be fully charged before first use and before selecting a cycle. It directs the user to store the unit in a cool, ventilated place away from direct sun and to charge it at least every three months during the off-season.

What the filter claim actually means

The current page lists an 180-micron filter plus ultra-fine cotton foam. The OS2010 manual's internal diagram identifies a cotton-foam tray and a separate 180-micron tray, while its illustrated packing list shows one filter-tray assembly labeled “Cotton foam + 180μm.” This supports an included dual-layer filtration arrangement for the described OS2010 package. It does not establish a second, spare filter kit or a replacement filter part number for each current finish SKU.

Filter care is part of the routine. The manual says to power the cleaner off before opening the top cover, rinse the trays after use, and hand-wash the cotton foam. It recommends the foam for daily pool maintenance but cautions against using it when the pool is heavily dusty because the cleaner can become stuck. That limitation matters: finer material in the filter description is not a reason to choose this robot for a debris-heavy recovery clean or to skip the maker's filter instructions.

What is listed in the box—and what remains to check

The OS2010 manual's packing illustration names the device, flipper, filter tray, hook, manual, quick-start guide, charger, and screw. The quick guide says to keep the charger and cleaner at least three meters (about 9.8 feet) from the pool edge while charging, use the authorized adapter, power the unit off, and make sure its charging port is dry. These are document-listed instructions, not a substitute for the current manual supplied with the exact item.

Before ordering, match the variant suffix, confirm the package and written warranty terms, and ask WYBOT about any pool-floor material or obstacle the manual does not address. The current page lists a one-year warranty and a 30-day return period, but the full terms and their seller-specific application were not established here. A CPSC notice reviewed for this assessment identifies specified Osprey 700 Max and S1 models and serial ranges; it does not identify the A1's OS2010 model or these two retail suffixes. That bounded comparison is not a recall clearance or a general safety finding for an individual unit.

Bottom line: assess the A1 only when cordless floor cleaning is the job, the pool's flat-bottom area and depth fit the exact instructions, and wall, waterline, step, or surface coverage is not required. The appealingly straightforward button controls do not compensate for those firm coverage limits, and its square-foot figure should never be mistaken for a length rating.
