A useful fit for

A corded floor-and-wall E25 for pools up to the listed 40 ft limit when MyDolphin Plus/Wi-Fi, a weekly timer and an anti-tangling swivel are important.

The main tradeoff

Waterline coverage is not listed. The formal Active Brush field says No despite promotional active-scrubbing language, so that point needs confirmation; the exact manual selector did not return an E25 guide.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Does the new E25 reach the waterline?

The exact U.S. page lists floor and wall coverage but does not list waterline cleaning. Its anti-tangling swivel and app features do not change that coverage field.

What app and scheduling features are on this E25 page?

It lists MyDolphin Plus, Wi-Fi and weekly timer, with a 2-hour default cycle. Delay is not listed.

Does the formal brush field confirm active brush action?

No. The formal Active Brush field reads No, although promotional text mentions active scrubbing. This review preserves that difference rather than using the promotional phrase as a matching capability.

The Dolphin Explorer E25 with Wi-Fi is a corded U.S. model, Product No. 99996406-XPI. Maytronics rates it for pools up to 40 ft and lists floor-and-wall coverage, MyDolphin Plus and a weekly timer. Its formal page does not list waterline scrubbing. That combination—not the E25 name or the Wi-Fi label alone—is the useful center of this assessment: an app-connected wall-and-floor machine whose published pool limit is below the E40 and E50.

Wall coverage without a waterline promise

The product page’s Cleaning Coverage field says “Floor and Walls,” its Waterline Scrubbing field says “No,” and the maximum-pool-length field says 40 ft. The pool classification field lists both in-ground and above-ground. The shapes list includes rectangular, round, free shape and kidney. The page does not make a separate claim for stairs or sun ledges, nor does a 40 ft rating prove that every depth, slope, finish or transition is supported. Verify the actual pool against current instructions rather than reading family-level claims into this exact SKU.

Maytronics calls out Wi-Fi and MyDolphin Plus and lists a weekly timer, automation mode and anti-tangling swivel. It marks the delay feature No and does not list remote control. The documented app support is not proof of live underwater steering, and the product page does not explain how the weekly timer behaves in every network or pool setup. The linked manual selector for 99996406-XPI returned no product when checked, so setup, cable limits, water conditions, connectivity details and troubleshooting are open buying checks.

Filter and brush details deserve careful reading

The exact table lists a top-access Fine Filter Kit, no full-filter indicator and no Ultra-Fine Filter Kit in the comparison row. “Fine” is the manufacturer’s product label; no particle-size rating is stated. The Cleaning section says two brushes, Combine Brush type, and “Active Brush: No.” Elsewhere on that same page, promotional feature copy describes “powerful active scrubbing.” Rather than reconciling this naming difference by guesswork, the assessment preserves the formal specification and the marketing wording as a page-level inconsistency. Neither line substitutes for a measured cleaning result.

The listed robot weight is 20.837 lb, and the page gives a 4,500 GPH suction-rate field. That number is manufacturer-reported, not a test measurement. The product page lists a 2-hour default cycle, a 2.5-year warranty, and MyDolphin Plus; it does not provide a separate cycle-duration set in the product attributes. The package-dimension entry is an implausible 558.0 × 440.0 × 320.0 inches beside much smaller body dimensions. I have not repeated or converted it; confirm actual carton dimensions if storage or shipping space matters.

New and refurbished E25 pages are not interchangeable

A separately listed Dolphin Refurbished Explorer E25 Wi-Fi carries Product No. 88886406-XPI. Its page preserves a 40 ft floor-and-wall rating and the same named app, but it gives a 3-hour default cycle, a one-year warranty and a 50 ft cable. Those fields are not the new E25’s two-hour default or its two-and-a-half-year page warranty; the standard page does not specify a cable length. The refurb page also showed the unit out of stock on the date checked. A separate assessment covers that operating configuration and status; do not apply its 3-hour cycle or 50 ft cable to 99996406-XPI.

Comparison with the E20 and E40

The E20 page lists walls and floor up to 33 ft but no app, weekly timer or delay feature. The E25 adds published Wi-Fi/app support and a longer 40 ft limit, while retaining no waterline claim. The E40 moves to a 50 ft maximum and lists floor, wall and waterline cleaning, more cycle choices and a longer three-year warranty. The E50 also lists waterline coverage to 50 ft and uses a Multi-Layer filter label, but the E25/E50 comparison does not make the E25’s omitted capabilities appear by implication. These are product-page distinctions, not a rank order of cleaning effectiveness.

Consider the new E25 if a corded, app-supported wall-and-floor routine and a 40 ft manufacturer rating suit the pool. Skip it if waterline work, a battery cleaner, an included Ultra-Fine kit or confirmed detail about depth and chemistry is essential. Before buying, confirm Product No. 99996406-XPI, the exact current U.S. manual, app and cable requirements, filter package, pool classification, return terms and warranty. The product image is an identity cue rather than proof of performance. No hands-on use, ownership, test results, customer experience, current price or availability is claimed.
