Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Which surfaces does the exact E20 page list?
It lists floor and walls, not waterline, up to 33 ft. The separate family overview conflicts about whether this model is for in-ground pools only.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the E20 support app scheduling?
The exact U.S. product page does not list app, Wi-Fi, weekly timer or delay features. An indexed portal exposed a PDF titled Mass 11, not E20, so it is not used to infer E20 controls.
Explore this need in the finder →What filter comes with the E20 page configuration?
The exact product page lists a top-load Fine Filter Kit. It does not document a separate Ultra-Fine Filter Kit.
Explore this need in the finder →This is an assessment of the exact U.S. Dolphin Explorer E20, Product No. 99996115-XP. The manufacturer page puts it between floor-only choices and waterline-capable models: the E20 is corded, rated for pools up to 33 ft, and listed for floor and wall cleaning. The practical case is modest but clear—an owner who needs a wall route as well as floor coverage, but does not require the app controls or waterline claim found on higher Explorer configurations.
Coverage is broader than E10, not full-surface
The U.S. product page formally lists “Floor and Walls,” a 33 ft maximum and four shapes: rectangular, round, free shape and kidney. It does not list waterline scrubbing, enhanced cycles, steps, a sun ledge or a separate coverage mode. The two-hour default and sole listed two-hour cycle make it a straightforward cycle on paper; they do not show how often the pool will require a run or establish a result in a particular basin.
There is a notable pool-type inconsistency within Maytronics’ own material. The exact product page’s Pool Classification field says “In ground and Above Ground,” while the company’s Explorer family overview calls the E20 an in-ground model. The product-specific field is the stronger direct statement for this SKU, but the conflicting overview makes above-ground fit a point to confirm rather than a certainty to extrapolate. The pool-length rating also does not resolve depth, floor slope, surface compatibility or obstacles.
Low-control routine and top-access filtration
Maytronics lists no mobile application, weekly timer, delay feature, anti-tangling swivel or automation mode on the new E20 product page. The listing describes one active Standard Brush and a top-access Fine Filter Kit, with no full-filter indicator. No particle-size value is supplied for the filter. The product record gives a machine weight of 14.796 lb and a 4,000 GPH suction-rate field; the flow number is manufacturer-reported, not an independent measurement or a prediction of debris pickup.
The page classifies it as non-cordless and the exact product image shows a tether. The linked exact-number manual selector was inconsistent across access paths: a direct current query returned no product, while an indexed Maytronics portal view labeled an Explorer E20 manual and linked an official 13-page document headed “Robotic Pool Cleaner Mass 11.” That heading does not identify the E20. Because the exact manual bridge is unresolved, this assessment does not apply the PDF’s depth, chemistry or electrical limits to Product No. 99996115-XP. Obtain current instructions for the exact number before setup.
Do not merge the refurbished E20 into this record
Maytronics separately lists a Refurbished Explorer E20, Product No. 88886148-XPB. It looks like the same name but is not the exact configuration assessed above: the outlet page lists a one-year warranty, a 50 ft cable and a slightly different robot weight (14.597 lb), and its image shows a visibly different E20 body. It formally classifies that SKU for in-ground pools only. The refurbished page also says “Automation Mode: Yes” while “Mobile Application” remains “No” and no timer or delay is listed. That unelaborated flag is not evidence of app operation or a documented schedule. A dedicated refurbished assessment records that version separately; do not substitute its cable, warranty, image or pool classification for 99996115-XP.
Where it sits against the E10, E25 and E40
Compared with the E10, this new E20 adds walls, four feet of listed pool-length headroom and a half-hour-longer default cycle; neither page lists app control. The E25 adds a 40 ft rating and MyDolphin Plus but remains a floor-and-wall configuration rather than a waterline cleaner. The E40 extends the formal rating to 50 ft and lists waterline coverage, app functions and multiple cycle durations. This is a capability comparison based on the exact pages, not a cleaning-performance ranking.
Consider the new E20 when 33 ft is within the product’s stated ceiling and floor-plus-wall coverage without app scheduling is acceptable. Look elsewhere if waterline cleaning, phone controls, a delayed start or a battery-powered arrangement is essential. Before buying, match Product No. 99996115-XP, confirm the exact U.S. manual and package, ask about the E20’s conflicting pool-classification wording, and check pool depth, surface, chemistry, cable and supply requirements against current instructions. The 14.796 lb figure is robot weight; it says nothing by itself about how easy it is to lift from a pool. The linked image is for model identification, not a cleaning demonstration. This review includes no hands-on test, ownership, measured result, price, stock or customer-experience claim.
