Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Is the WYBOT S3 a currently verified U.S. buying option in this guide?
The official manual and use guide identify an S3 model, but its direct WYBOT U.S. product route returned 404 and no exact current U.S. SKU or live offer was verified. It is retained as a reference assessment and deliberately omitted from buying matches.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the S3 document a submerged waterline routine rather than surface skimming?
The S3 manual lists a separate waterline mode as well as floor and wall modes. These are submerged routines; the materials do not document an S3 floating-debris surface-skimming mode. Current offer uncertainty still keeps it out of the buying finder.
Explore this need in the finder →Does a 300 m² pool-area figure establish fit for a 40-ft pool or a stepped pool?
No. The manual states pool area up to 300 m², not a pool-length maximum in feet, and the use guide says to avoid pools with steps or ledges. Do not convert area to length or treat a broad coverage mode as step support.

This is a document-based assessment of the WYBOT S3 High-End robotic pool cleaner, not a hands-on review. WYBOT’s download index links an S3 manual, and its S3 use guide remains on the U.S. storefront. However, the direct S3 product route checked for this edition returns 404, and the one-page current Cordless collection did not list it. No current U.S. SKU, seller offer or package revision was established. The S3 is retained as a model reference, not as a buying-finder match or a claim of current availability.
The S3 is a system, not just a robot
The manual describes a robot, solar kit and dirt collector, with a wall-mounted dock attached to the collector. Its package list names a robot basket and ultra-fine filter, collector filter bag and sanitation ball, dock parts, a DC charger, floating parts, hook and assembly pieces. This model-specific list is not proof that an uninspected U.S. seller carton contains them today; ask the seller to itemize the exact package and manual revision.
Placement is a central constraint. WYBOT’s guide says the solar panel works best in continuous direct sunlight and that shadows can reduce charging; the dock should have a clear view across the pool, and the supporting wall should be flat, undamaged and free of steps, tanning ledges or other obstructions. The guide also says not to place the dock where water depth is below 1.2 m. The manual separately lists a 50 cm minimum water depth for the cleaner and 3 m maximum. These are different conditions: the robot’s water-depth specification does not waive the guide’s deeper dock-site requirement. Cables and connectors must remain dry.
Submerged coverage and separate modes
The manual lists a default full-pool / floor-then-wall mode, standard, Turbo and Eco floor modes, a wall mode and a waterline mode. Those are selectable routines, not evidence that every surface is cleaned in each run or that the machine handles floating debris. The waterline routine is submerged cleaning at the pool edge, not surface skimming. WYBOT’s use guide explicitly cautions against pools with steps or ledges, so this assessment does not treat the S3 as a documented step-cleaning choice. It also says tile can be slippery and affect climbing, another reason to check actual surface and shape rather than rely on broad coverage wording.
The manufacturer states a maximum pool area of 300 m². That is area, not a length rating: it cannot be converted into a maximum pool length in feet without knowing the shape and route. The 50 cm to 3 m water-depth figures likewise do not establish the cleaner’s fit for a particular pool or its steps. No maximum length in feet or minimum step depth appears in the materials I reviewed.
Charging, mapping and app setup
The manual lists three hours of running time per full charge and three hours for DC charging, alongside a 7,800 mAh battery and 90 W power figure. These are manufacturer specifications, not runtime or energy measurements from this review. Actual use may depend on selected mode, pool conditions and docking/charging setup; the published values should not be read as a guarantee that every 300 m² pool is cleaned in one session. The manual describes both solar charging for the station and a DC charger, so placement and charging workflow matter even though the cleaner operates from its battery.
For mapping, WYBOT instructs the owner to pair the cleaner while it is docked and connect to Wi-Fi for advanced app features such as mapping and scheduling. During the first full-pool cleaning cycle, the manual says the robot creates a 3D map; it also cautions not to send commands or physically interfere while the map is being processed. After a cycle, it returns to the dock when the battery is low or cleaning is complete, then runs an approximately 30-second self-cleaning transfer into the dirt collector. Do not pull the collector drawer during that process. The guide says not to relocate the dock after mapping, because dock position is part of the operating setup.
Filter stages and debris limits
The manual’s specification table lists “180 µm & Ultra-fine filter.” The system description distinguishes the robot’s basket and ultra-fine element from the dirt collector’s filter bag. WYBOT’s use guide recommends a 380 µm plate for opening-pool or heavy-debris conditions, a 180 µm filter for daily maintenance, and the ultra-fine filter for fine debris only; it says ultra-fine use is not recommended in heavily soiled water. The same guide warns that large debris may block suction. That is useful operating guidance, not a filtration test or a quantified capture claim. Confirm which elements are present and compatible with the exact package, and plan for periodic filter-bag cleaning.
How to use this assessment
The official material supports battery power, submerged floor/wall/waterline routines, app mapping/scheduling and a manual-listed ultra-fine filter. The model is not included in buying results until an exact U.S. offer is established. If you encounter a unit, verify its label and manual revision, supplied system parts, dock wall/depth, sunlight, pool surface and step conditions, area/depth limits, service terms and current safety information. No price, stock status, recall clearance, test result, ownership or personal-use claim is made here.
